While the seniors were toiling away in the second round of their HV season, the U16s were sweating on making their debut
Coming off a premiership-winning season in 2016, the farming apprentices were hoping to make their mark in round one, and make their mark they did.
Starting well, the team went into half time 2-0 up. Aamir looked dangerous early and put one on the board, joined by Braeden Surrao.
Putting their foot down in the second, Aamir popped in two more while Braeden added another one to his tally. They were joined on the scorers sheet by Emily Preston and Sam Pigden.
It wasnβt all out attack though, with some excellent defensive displays by Sam Vantarakis, Thomas Spowart, and Jy Sneesby.
Coach Em Wilkinson said after the game that she was most impressed with their teamwork and talk, and was looking forward to regularly seeing them in the senior sides this year.
