For round three we take a look at the younger members of the club who will hopefully one day step up and lead the seniors. The under 14 Monash Monsters not only played a fantastic game of hockey but took away the win in their first game!
The long-awaited opening of the Junior Winter Season got underway on Friday night with the U14 Monash Monsters- the new official name of the Monash University Hockey Club Juniors- taking on Frankston. While the opposition was short a few players, the Monsters did not hold back, leading 3-0 at the break. Captain Braeden Surrao gave a stirring half- time speech which saw a re-energized team take the field to walk away with an 8-0 victory.
This game also saw the debut of four new Monash players; Madison, Jordan, Shreta and Noah, who all played spectacular games โ Madison even scoring her first goal (although it was disallowed).
Dylan Booth scored a spectacular 4 goals (though we only have 14 rounds, heโs aiming for highest goal scorer at the club!) with Emily Preston, Sam Pigden, Sam Watson and Braeden also contributing. A promising start to the season!
