2015 AGM

Hi Club Members,

As per clause 12.1 of the Monash Hockey Club Constitution I hereby give the required minimum 21 days notice of the 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

2015 AGM
Date : – Saturday 13th of February 2015
Time : – 10:15am
Venue : – Monash University Hockey Clubrooms

The meeting will include the presentation of club reports, club financials, projected budget and elections. It is essential that you attend as we require a minimum number of attendees to be able to proceed with the meeting. If you’re unable to attend in person, please complete the attached Proxy Vote Form (also available for download on the Monash Hockey website – www.monashhockey.org.au) and return it as per the instructions.

Women’s 2016 Information

Coaching appointments for 2016:
Helen Morton has agreed to continue in her role as the 1’s coach for the 2016 season. We would like to thank Helen for all of her efforts last year and look forward to having her run the program in 2016.
Ivan Britto has agreed to coach the Womens 2’s in 2016. Ivan has coached the Men’s 4’s for the past couple of years and will be a welcome addition to the Womens coaching team.
Tom Anderson has agreed to coach the Womens 3’s for 2016. While his sidekick Stephen Bird is heading off to Canberra and will surely be missed.
We are looking for a new Womens 4’s coach. Rachel has decided to step down so we are on the hunt for a replacement. If you have any suggestions or want to get involved please speak to Matt Absolom
Pre Season:
Womens Pre season times have been confirmed for the 2016 season
Saturday Feb 6, 13, 20, 27 arrive 10:45   11am – 1pm
Monday Feb 8, 15, 22, arrive 6:45 for 7 – 8:30pm
Practice games will be scheduled in March on the weekends.
March Training roster will be Announced shortly
All sessions will be held at Monash on the turf.

Mens 2016 Pre-season Training

We hope everyone has had a relaxing Christmas/News years break but the time has come to crack into pre-season.

Starting Saturday the 30/1, the training times are as follows:

    • Saturday arrive 8:45am for 9am start to 11 @ Monash
    • Monday arrive 8:15pm for 8:30 start to 10 @ Monash
    • Wednesday arrive 6:45 for 7pm start @ Monash

These sessions are all on the turf (or indoor court) and will involve mostly skills and game scenario work.

Monash awarded Vic Health grant!

Christmas has come early to the Monash Hockey Club, as Vic Health have awarded us a grant of $3000!

All part of a plan to get more Victorians up and about, the club is allocating the money towards some important juniors and seniors equipment.

What a great way to start preseason.

HookIn2Hockey 2016

Monash Hockey will be continuing to run HookIn2Hockey programs in 2016. These are fun programs running in various locations across the eastern suburbs.

  1. Hi2H Essex Heights Mount Waverley – Run by Brianna Golsworthy, Thursdays 3:45pm – 4:45pm starting February 25th till 17th of March
  2. Hi2H Clayton North Primary School – Wednesdays 3.30pm – 4.30pm, starting February 17th till 16th of March.

Hi2H is perfect for ages 8 to 14, perfect for beginners and intermediate players and run by enthusiastic coaches. Contact Brianna Golsworthy via email at

No previous experience is necessary. Anyone new to hockey or wanting to brush up on some basics with games is invited to participate in a fun environment with enthusiastic staff the 4-5 week introduction to hockey.

The cost is $30.

Juniors Summer Competition

This summer Monash University Hockey Club will be running a competition for junior players aged 14 years and younger.

The summer competition is a relaxed way for children to try out the sport, as well as improve existing skills and trying out umpiring.
