MINI-GAMES

What? Minigames, sometimes hockey, sometimes not, all times they will be small and short and fun.

Who? Literally everyone. Bring your neighbour and your brother’s cat. This is a mixed-gender, mixed-skill-level, mixed-fitness-level scratch match situation.

When? E’ry Tuesday and Thursday 6-7pm, starting February 19th (next week)!

Where? THE FARM.

Why? We want to create a space where the focus is more on getting to know our fellow club-mates and just having a good ol’ time (plus, a little bit of fitness on the side cos, you know, it is preseason after all).

We’re still searching: where are you 2019 Men’s VP?

Hey ho! Call for anyone who likes talkin’ to people, organisin’ people and… more talkin’ to people!

Monash Hockey Committee is looking for a Men’s VP. From Ivan Britto, the retiring VP, “My favourite part of the role was getting to meet new players and find out a bit about them. In reality, I got to know everyone on the men’s side of the club; there’s a lot of good people at Monash.”

Please get in touch if you’re interested or have any hesitations or questions. We don’t mind your experience level and we’re super excited to welcome someone into the role that will be playing in the 2019 season. All you need is to like talking to people and be happy to spend a bit of time at the clubhouse after training to figure about availability and selections. If you haven’t done anything like this before, don’t hesitate to get involved – Britto and the current committee are here to lend a hand and answer any questions.

The role mainly consists of:

  • Welcoming and inducting new players;
  • Knowing player eligibility and availability;
  • Helping with selections;
  • Communicating with players and coaches; and
  • Attending committee meetings.

This one for the resume! This role develops your stakeholder and time management, and organisational and communication skills.

The time commitment for this role varies throughout the year. The busiest time is the start of April, getting everyone registered at the start of the season, and then only takes up 1-2 hours each week for the rest of the year.

Happy for you to send an email to Roddy, our President, to let her know you’re interested!
