Congratulations to Sarah Duncan who has received Hockey Victoria’s award for Best Junior Umpire Umpiring Seniors! Sarah has had a busy season but her dedication to the sport is clear through her determination and success on the pitch as both a player and an umpire. Well done Sarah!
Our Vic League 1 Reserves Women played well and fought hard but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to beat the former premiership league reserve team, with a final score of 1 – 3.
Congratulations to Powerhouse St. Kilda Hockey Club on a fantastic season, you absolutely dominated the league. However, we do hope we made you a little nervous going into the grand final.
Huge thank you to coaches Matt Mcindoe and Ivan Britto for their dedication to the team. Matt met most of the players for the first time at the beginning of the year and has done well to integrate into the team.
Thank you and goodbye to Gabby Sylivris who is moving to Bendigo. Sad to see you go Gabby but so happy to have had you sharing your amazing skills and selfless game style with our club!

Summer 9’s Competition
Our mixed Hockey 9’s competition is back! Here’s all the need-to-know information about Summer Hockey 2018:
• Monday nights from October 8th to November 19th (Excl. Mon November 5th)
• $60 if you register before October 1st, $70 after this date
• To register, go to https://memberdesq.onesporttechnology.com/143/reg/subs and select 2018 Summer Comp
• Friends and family are welcome to play. If you have friends that you would like to play on a team with please email your preferences to Roddy at (please note requests are not guaranteed but we will endeavour to do our best)

A heartfelt congratulations to the 4s for a really great game on Saturday! It was really exciting to watch but unfortunately ended in a 1-0 loss. You should be really proud of what you’ve achieved as a team this year!
Congratulations also to one of our Women’s Masters teams for a great finals run. Unfortunately, it ended in a shootout last Wednesday night but well done to all involved none-the-less.
Finally, our Vic League Reserve Women will be playing in the grand final THIS SUNDAY! They are on S2 at the State Netball Hockey Centre at 10:45 PM and it would be fantastic to have as many farmers there to support them as they battle against a team that was undefeated for the first 18 rounds of the season – only to be defeated by our wonderful ladies in the first round of finals, boo-yeah! The game was a cracker, with the Monash Women defeating Powerhouse 1-1, 3-2 in shootouts. It was a tense game with Monash ahead from the first half and Powerhouse only getting their equaliser in a short-corner after the final whistle!
Tell you what, great value for spectators!
Bravo all on a season well done!
