An open letter to the Monash Monsters

Juniors Diary – THE END:

Dear Juniors,
This was not the end that we hoped for you, but it has been a privilege to coach you. We are very proud of everything you’ve achieved, everything you’ve learned, and everything you’ve become. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer or kinder group of kids; we thank you for your patience, your resilience and your humour over the years. Be proud to know you’ll be the most successful juniors that this University will ever see. We eagerly await your senior debut and know we’ll be cheering from the sidelines. We will miss all of the juniors who have called themselves Monash Monsters and we look forward to the day where the Monsters become the Farmers.
Love, Roddy & Wilko

FINALS UPDATE 2

Seven Monash teams played in finals last week and every single one of them deserves congratulations for their hard work getting there. Just two of those teams progressed further into finals: the Vic League 1 Reserves Women had a very hard fought win against Powerhouse, drawing 1-1 at full time and winning in shootouts, pushing them all the way to the grand final! Pretty good for a team that was promoted into the league at the beginning of the season and versing an undefeated team! Despite spending much of the game attacking unfortunately the Metro B South Women lost against Southern 3-1. The good news is they get a second chance for glory this weekend!

Come along to the farm at 2 PM this Saturday to cheer them into the grand final 🗣🗣🏆🏆

TRIVIA NIGHT

Trivia Night was a blast! Thank you to everyone who came along and helped us raise $2k for the club! All going towards keeping our fees lower and our wallets happier. HUGE thank you to our major donors: Valerie and Reeny – for handmade goodies for keeping our players, spectators and puppies warm; Kookaburra Hockey for their donated merch and every single team for donating a gift and coming along to make the night such a success 🎉🎉

Congratulations are due to #RickysBickies for taking out first place with honourable mention to Hodge Podge and Hold Me Closer for a very close 2nd and 3rd! Special shout out to Justin for not only contributing to the fundraiser but also helping us get rid of some unsavoury sippers! Tivey thanks you greatly.

Round 17 Wrap-up

Well done to the Women’s 3s for a hard-fought game against Footscray on Saturday – they won 1-0, scoring with less than 3 minutes left on the clock! It poured rain throughout the match and they had to stop for hail part way through, legends.

Meanwhile, our Women’s 2s played in 2 degrees against WestVic in Ballarat and walked away with a 3-0 victory!

Bravo to all teams for pushing through the hectic weather this weekend, sleep tight knowing summer hockey is only two months away!
